Visit Wat Don Kaew, a unique Burmese-style temple which comprises some Buddha sculptures in marble.  Proceed eastwards on a narrow concrete road which leads over a most fascinating scenery along Meo, Lisu and Lahu villages.  The downward slope opens to the huge valley of the Ping river.  Just before Ban Tak stop to visit Wat Phra Boromthat.  From here it’s a fast drive to Tak, majestically situated at the eastbank of the Ping river.  Visit the local market and the Somdei Phrachao Taksin Maharaj Shrine.  Accommodation at viang tak riverside or similar hotel.

Day 6              tak—chiang mai (275 kms.)
